About Course
This 3-hour continuing education course is designed to provide assisted living facility administrators, managers, caregivers, and direct care staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize, prevent, report, and respond to resident abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Participants will examine the various forms of abuse, including physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, and financial abuse, as well as signs of neglect and resident mistreatment. The course reviews resident rights, caregiver responsibilities, mandatory reporting requirements, documentation standards, and evidence-based prevention strategies that promote resident safety and dignity. Through case studies, practical examples, and scenario-based learning activities, participants will develop the ability to identify risk factors, intervene appropriately, and foster a culture of accountability and protection within assisted living facilities. Upon completion, learners will be better prepared to safeguard vulnerable adults and comply with applicable regulatory and ethical standards.
