About Course
Arizona Institute for Health Sciences (AIHS) provides training for individuals seeking opportunities to advance their careers in caregiving. This course is designed to meet a 62-hour training for Assisted Living Facility Caregivers as mandated by the State Board. It uses a blended learning approach to provide flexibility for students by completing the online modules while receiving instruction from qualified instructors.

- Unit 2: Legal and Ethical Issues
- Unit 3: Effective Communication Skills for Caregivers
- Unit 4: Developing, Using, and Maintaining Resident Service Plans
- Unit 5: Infection Control and Standard Precautions in Residential Facilities
- Unit 6: Nutrition and Food Preparation
- Unit 7: Emergency Care and Disaster Prevention
- Unit 8: Homecare Environment and Maintenance
- Unit 9: Mental Health and Social Service Needs
- Unit 10: Care for Residents with Cognitive Impairment
- Unit 11: Basic Caregiver Skills
- Unit 12: Basic Restorative Services

- Unit 14: Skills Training
Once you've completed all the online modules and assessments, the next step involves attending a face-to-face session at the institution. Following this, you'll have the flexibility to choose a convenient date and location for your caregiver knowledge exam.
